Suzuki Esztergom puts production on overtime to keep up with increased demand on Vitara
The Suzuki Vitara is enjoying a much higher popularity than how the Esztergom-based Suzuki plant originally expected. By the end of this year, Magyar Suzuki Corporation will manufacture 210,000 units, topping previous forecasts by 20,000.
The increased production requires overtime and six-day work weeks. According to communications director Viktória Ruska, the company will compensate workers for the lost vacation days with bonuses.
The Hungarian plant delivers Vitaras to a total of 102 countries, including North Africa, the Caribbean and Japan.
