Saudi Arabian engineering firm opens innovation centre in Gödöllő

Saudi Arabia-based engineering firm Sherbiny Holdings is investing HUF 150 million (EUR 500,000) in Gödöllő.

László Szabó, State Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said on Monday that the new office, the company's first location outside of the Persian Bay, will start operation in April this year. The company will create 50 new jobs with the investment and will hire experienced as well as freshly graduated engineers.

The main activity of Sherbiny Holdings is technical planning in connection with projects in the oil and natural gas industry.

Majed M. Sherbiny, son of the president and general manager of the company, told MTI: they are expecting the investment to be reimbursed in two years. In the meantime the company will collaborate with universities to establish solutions which will establish the foundations of a long-term relationship.

The Saudi Arabian company, established in 1986, is engaged in the energetics, chemical and mining industries, offering industrial and commercial services services such as design, installation and repair of machines as well as sales and marketing. The company has 140 employees worldwide and registered a turnover of USD 55 million in 2013.

Sherbiny Engineering and Innovation Center, the Hungarian subsidiary of Sherbiny was established on November 3, 2014. The Budapest-based company's main activities are technical planning and consulting.
