The rules at the Spanish competition are the same as at Shell Eco-marathon Europe. The technical background and judges are all provided by Shell.

With their newly developed and built vehicle, SZEnergy team competed in the battery electric category. 24 teams in four different categories competed at the 4th Murcia Solar Race.

The Győr-based team had to do 10 laps, altogether 12,800 metres, in 31 minutes, which required an average speed of 31km/h. On the first day, the team passed scrutineering without any troubles, which was followed by a test session and two race sessions.

The team finished the first race session with a performance of 164km/kWh. On the final day, SZEnergy managed to improve their results and the final performance of 194.8km/kWh meant the victory for the Hungarian team.

"It is not just the victory that is important for us but also the fact that we have managed to improve our previous best result, which was 191.7km/kWh," said mechanical engineer Dániel Pup, founder and manager of SZEnergy Team.
