The new team will be working on navigation and infotainment systems for cars of noted car manufacturers. Although the trend in this sector is usually that programming tasks are outsourced to cheaper countries, NNG's management is striving to keep R&D and the company's main activities in Hungary.

The company is primarily looking for C++ developers, testers, team leaders and graphic designers, scripters and UI developers. Although NNG is planning to open the new programming centre in November, recruiting has already started.

Péter Balogh, the CEO of NNG, pointed out that besides salaries that can compete with wages in the capital, the company's aim is to create the best possible working conditions at the new facility. The company's Budapest office was chosen as the Office of the Year in 2012, and NNG would like to offer similar work conditions for its co-workers in Szeged as well.

Several Hungarian towns were considered as the location for a new development centre. NNG's management chose Szeged thanks to its well-trained professionals, a practice-oriented IT training, the constructive atmosphere of preparatory negotiations, the possibility of a high level collaboration with the local university, an accessible infrastructure and the bright academic atmosphere that is characteristic of the town, located in the southern part of Hungary.

NNG, employing nearly 650 people at its Budapest office, is planning to expand its portfolio with the development project. Besides navigation solutions, the company has plans to gain ground in the market of on-board infotainment systems, too.

Recently, the company won the European Business Award, the most prestigious business award in Europe, beating 17,000 competitors. Last week, we reported on NNG's acquisition of nfuzion, an American HMI prototyping company.
