Mercedes presents new CLA Shooting Brake

Yesterday, Mercedes-Benz released official photos and specifications of the latest model to be manufactured at the premium car maker´s Kecskemét plant, the CLA Shooting Brake.

The new model, sharing its underpinnings and technical specifications with the four-door CLA, has a luggage compartment of nearly 500 litres, only 5 litres less than the standard variant's.

By folding the rear seats, the boot increases to 1,354 litres. By setting the rear seats to full upright position, the luggage compartment grows to 595 litres.

The Shooting Brake is front-wheel drive, while the AMG version features all-wheel drive. The new variant is 4,630mm long, 1,777mm wide and 1,435mm high.

The base model is powered by a 1.6-litre engine with a performance of 122bhp and 200Nm torque, while the smallest diesel has a performance figure of 136 bhp and 300Nm torque.

The CLA 220 CDI has a performance of 177bhp and 350Nm torque, while the 1.6-litre petrol engine in the CLA 200 is capable of a performance of 156bhp and 250Nm torque. The CLA 250 has a performance of 211bhp and 350Nm torque.

The CLA 45 AMG Shooting Break is powered by the most powerful four-cylinder engine in serial production with a performance of 360bhp and 450Nm torque. The Shooting Break accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
