In a meeting held between Audi representatives and economy minister Mihály Varga the parties discussed the Győr-based manufacturer’s long-term plans.

Mihály Varga said the company, originally founded in 1993, is one of Hungary’s most significant automotive enterprises.

In the last two decades, Audi Hungaria has invested over €7 bn in Hungary, while the company’s upcoming HUF 32 bn (€100 million) investment will be subsidized with a €20 million aid.

Through the restructuring of its international production network, Audi will soon begin the mass production of the Q3 SUV in Győr.

The German premium car maker also has plans to make Hungary a centre for the manufacturing of electric motors.
