Opel to launch mass production for new engine, Audi celebrates major milestone in Győr. Turkish and Czech-built buses to enter operation and Hungary and Apollo set to support the training of tyre engineers.

It was announced last week that Opel will start the manufacture of a new 1.6-litre bi-turbo diesel engine in Szentgotthárd in January 2016. The first units have already emerged on the production floor.

On November 18, the 3 millionth six-cylinder TFSI engine rolled down the production line at Győr-based Audi Hungaria Motor Kft. The 310bhp 3.0-litre 6-cylinder TFSI EVO unit will be fitted into an Audi A7 at the premium car maker's Neckarsulm plant in Germany.

Last week, Siemens held a professional forum on railway automation to engage players in the industry in a dialogue.

The Association for Women's Career Development in Hungary handed over awards for the best workplaces for women in Hungary. According to the jury's decision, Hungary's best workplace for female employees is GIMEX-Hidraulika Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató Kft.

In September, average gross earnings increased by 5.1 percent in Hungary, according to the latest report by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH).
