The IIASA Shiba Quality Award is handed to companies, groups and organizations from the processing, health and educational sectors who have shown exceptional achievements in quality development through unique technologies and solutions.

The Award has been given to almost 160 entrants. After being honoured with the Shiba Award, several organizations have then received the National Quality Award and the Award of European Excellence, which were established five years later.

Earlier, the Shiba Quality Award was only available for industrial players and service providers, now the circle is wider. Today, health care, educational organizations and public services are also eligible for the award. This new opportunity helped introduce TQM guidelines in new branches in Hungary.

This year, 15 Hungarian organizations received the IIASA Shiba Quality Award, including several automotive suppliers.
