Javier González Pareja, managing director of the Hungarian unit of Bosch, noted that Hungary is of strategic importance for the global research and development goals of Bosch.

He added that Bosch has a headcount over 10,000 in Hungary and the newly opened training center would provide education services to approximately 5,000 employees a year.

Hungary’s foreign minister Péter Szijjártó said at the inauguration ceremony that Hungary anticipates spending HUF 50 bln to establish 2,000 vocational training workshops and a further HUF 700 bln on research and development during the current European Union budget cycle, reported the Budapest Business Journal earlier this week.

Volker Schilling and Roger Seemeyer, directors of Robert Bosch Elektronika Kft. pointed out: the flexible training system offered at the centre will play an important role in the future development of the company.

Bosch said in a statement that the company has been present in Hungary since 1899. Since then, the company has grown into one of Hungary's largest employer.

In the 2013 financial year, the Bosch group, operating ten subsidiaries in Hungary, registered a turnover of HUF 719 billion. The turnover of the company's Hungarian operation amounted to HUF 161 million.
