Brady Ericcson, president and CEO of BorgWarner Emission Systems said: Within 40 months this is the company's sixth new plant and they have plans to open additional production units.

Plant manager Ágnes Sosna said the 15,000 m2 production area is supported by a logistics and service facility on 10,000 m2 floor space.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the new unit was held one year ago in the presence of foreign minister Péter Szijjártó. In his speech, Szijjártó said the construction of a new plant and expansion of the company's existing turbocharger unit would cost HUF 9 billion in total.

For the investment BorgWarner received a HUF 850 million from the Hungarian government on unique terms. At two new production halls the company will create a total of 400 new jobs.

BorgWarner has 58 operations in 19 countries worldwide. In 2014, the company's consolidated revenues amounted to $8.3 billion. The BorgWarner group is an employer of 220,000 people worldwide.
