The existing Department of Materials Sciences and Technology, Department of Internal Combustion Engines, Department of Vehicle Manufacturing and the Department of Whole Vehicle Development all focus on the product, while the new Department of Management Sciences and Corporate Communications will undertake the training of the company's future managers and executives.

"Every good company puts a huge emphasis on innovation, which is impossible to achieve without well-trained professionals and managers. Know-how, motivation and communication, these are all part of production, and the new department will concentrate on these fields," said Thomas Sigi, Audi AG board of directors member responsible for human relations at the opening ceremony.

Sigi thanked Péter Földesi, the current, and Tamás Szekeres, the former rector of Széchenyi István University for their cooperation and openness towards new initiatives.

The director of the Department is Patrick Waldbuesser, a former colleague and student of Thomas Sigi.

The new Audi Hungaria Department of Management Sciences and Corporate Communications offers a wide spectrum of themes, ranging from the basic theories and research on management models and management strategies to the so-called Harvard model of HR management.

In addition, the companies will deal with group and intra- and interorganizational communications. The Department is also planning to launch a post-graduate MBA programme in the mid-term.
