Series production of the new Audi TT Roadster will officially start on November 5. The company did not disclose exactly how many TT Roadsters will be produced at the plant, but the company reminded that the Győr-based factory now operates with full capacity, in three shifts.

Audi Hungaria is planning to multiply the production volume of over 40,000 cars manufactured last year.

Thomas Faustmann, the CEO of Audi Hungaria Motor Kft. said in March at the company's press conference where they announced the previous year's results that Audi would triple the volume of 42,851 units produced last year.

He said that the third-generation TT Coupé would account for approximately 10 percent of the plant's entire capacity. He added that an additional model would also be manufactured at the Győr plant.

Faustmann pointed out: "We cannot wait much longer with the launch of the TT Roadster".

Audi's Győr-based plant switched to three-shift operation in mid-August. According to the company, the step was necessitated by increasing demand for the manufacturer's premium cars.

The production launching ceremony in November will be attended by VW AG chairman Martin Winterkorn and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
