Audi Hungaria: record in engine production

Audi Hungaria Motor Kft. closed a successful first half in 2014. The company managed to continue its growth from previous years with 1,066,236 engines produced in the first six months in 2014 (1,019,595 in 2013). In the first half, 66,640 (13,416) cars rolled off the production line at the new vehicle plant.

In the first half in 2014, Audi Hungaria registered an income of EUR 3.712 billion. With a EUR 289 million investment launched January and finished in June, the company made a long-term investment in the Győr-based production site. With this investment, the total value of investments since the establishment of Audi Hungaria has amounted to EUR 7.024 billion. On June 30, Audi Hungaria employed 10,774 people (9,393 in 2013).

The new-generation Audi TT

In addition to the Audi A3 sedan and Audi A3 Cabriolet models, production of the new-generation Audi TT was launched a few days ago at the Győr-based car plant.

"In the first half in 2014 we can look back at the dynamic growth of car and engine production," said Thomas Faustmann, the CEO of Audi Hungaria. "Our team managed to tackle the biggest challenges of the previous month. Production of the A3 sedan and A3 Cabriolet models has reached full capacity, while production of the new TT Coupé was also successfully launched. As a result, Audi Hungaria significantly contributes to Audi AG's global growth strategy," Fastmann added.

In engine production 809,252 (774,991) 4 and 5-cylinder petrol and diesel units, 233,440 (220,794) 6-cylinder units and 23,544 (22,810) 8, 10 and 12-cylinder engines were made in the first half this year. Since mid-year, the new-generation V6 3.0 TDI clean diesel engine has also been in production at the Győr-based plant.

In the first half of 2014, 66,640 (13,416) cars, including 7,895 (7,925) Audi TT Coupés, 2,411 (2,456) Audi TT Roadsters, 45,578 (402) A3 sedans and 10,756 (2,633) A3 Cabriolets rolled off the production line at Audi Hungaria.

Record in engine production at Audi Hungaria

In the first half, Audi Hungaria Motor Kft. registered an income of EUR 3,712 (2.796) billion. In 2014 so far, the company has carried out investments at the value of EUR 289 (335) million. The sum was spent on the construction of the new vehicle plant, increasing engine production capacity and R&D activities. With this investment, the total value of investments since the establishment of Audi Hungaria has reached EUR 7.024 billion.

As of June 30, the company had 10,774 employees. Since the beginning of 2014, 796 new employees have been hired at Audi Hungaria. The German engine and car manufacturer's Hungarian subsidiary has won the award for Hungary's "Most Attractive Employer" for the sixth time this year.

In the first half this year, Audi Hungaria supported several regional projects, including the expansion of the Győr-Pér Airport. Thanks to the project handed over just a few weeks ago, the airport is now able to receive Boeing 737s and Airbus A320s as well.

In addition, the company has become the main sponsor of the new multifunctional sports arena in Győr, called the Audi Aréna Győr. As a result, the German-based company continues to support the region's cultural and sporting life.
