The theoretical training period started this July will now be followed by a 75-day practical traineeship at the company's plants in Chennai, India, and Enschede, the Netherlands.

The 70 technicians, signing a traineeship contract in April and a labour contract in July, will eventually work in Gyöngyöshalász at Apollo Tyres' first greenfield facility in Europe.

The trainees, chosen through an elaborate multi-step selection process, will start work at the plant when production is launched in 2017.

After a short vacation following their theoretical studies, the technician trainees have now begun their traineeship in India and the Netherlands to obtain the practical know-how required for their work at the Gyöngyöshalász operation.

Following its launch, the Gyöngyöshalász plant will manufacture 5.5 million passenger car and LCV tyres and 675,000 heavy-duty tyres for buses and HGVs.
