Apollo Tyres starts recruitment in Gyöngyöshalász

Recruitment has started for the new plant of India-based tyre manufacturer Apollo Tyres in Gyöngyöshalász, Hungary, to be built as greenfield investment project.

The company announced that in the first phase, 100, while in the second half of the year, an additional 150 technicians and freshly graduated engineers will be hired at the new production site. 7

The company is planning to launch mass production at the new plant in the first half of 2017. In addition to technicians and engineers, Apollo Tyres is also hiring logisticians andother professionals.

Apollo Tyres is an employer of nearly 16,000 people worldwide. The company has production sites in India, Africa and the Netherlands.

The plant in Heves county, Hungary, will be the tyre manufacturer's most modern facility to date, and one of the most automated factories in the sector worldwide. The Gyöngyöshalász plant will manufacture 5.5 million passenger car and light commercial vehicle tyres and 675,000 bus and HGV tyres every year for mainly the European market.

Apollo Tyres Hungary Kft. CEO Kannan Prabhakart said the company has started recruiting technicians at various educational institutions in Heves county, who will sign a grant contract in March 2014.

"Apollo supports these students in the last semester of their studies. Of course, we have also started recruiting engineers and we're awaiting applicants from other fields as well, such as maintenance, finances and logistics," Prabhakart added.

The HUF 146 billion (EUR 490 million) plant is said to create 975 new jobs in Gyöngyöshalász.
